Over the past week, thousands of young people across Afghanistan shared their voices through U-Report to mark International Youth Day 2026.
Linked to this year's global theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," young people reflected on their hopes, priorities, challenges, and aspirations for the future.
Their insights reveal that while young people live in different circumstances, they share common aspirations for quality education, skills and employment, wellbeing, safety, and meaningful participation in shaping their communities and their future.
These findings provide valuable insights to inform dialogue, advocacy, and action by the United Nations and its partners in Afghanistan.
